Description of This Day

Recorded in the late 80's, this project features 11 Paul LaFontaineoriginal songs and 1 Hymn. Many of these songs stemmed from Paul's indepth study of God's word from age 16 - 21. During this time in his life he was keenly aware of a strong pull in his life, and decided to study, pray and seek God. As God began to reveal Himself more clearly to Paul, he began to pour these truths into his songs to share them with others. We won this recording at a talent contest in Flint,Michigan, and have been amazed at how the Lord has used this project to spread these songs around the world. Many of these songs remain favorites and are still requested wherever we go. People have named their churches after some of them, preached sermons about them and used them to witness to others. In the early 90's our family was amazed as we listened to a testimony from a brother from Africa. Not knowing that our music had traveled so far, we were very blessed to learn that the song "There He Is..Standing By His Bride" was being sung by several sisters as they were released from prison where they had been arrested and detained for several weeks for refusing to dance the provocative tribal dances of their country.

Description of I'm Not Of This World
Unknown to many this recording is a solo project by Sharon LaFontaine (now VanWyk) when she was 13 years old (and back when she could sing allot higher). This unique recording features seven of the very first songs that Paul wrote at age 15. Many of them were written on his paper route when the family was living near Port Huron, Michigan. The music and vocals were recorded at a Minnesota studio owned by Bro. Lynden and Sis. Laurie Bartell in early 1982. Bro. Alex Eyre and Sister Chloe (Lynden's Sister) helped with the music along with Paul and Sharon. Soon after the recording the family re-located to Tucson, Arizona where the cover picture was taken in the garden next to Tucson Tabernacle. In recent years the family received a testimony from Bro. Dale Smith a former Marine from California. Someone from Tucson had given him Sharon's solo project and told him to listen it. Bro. Dale was on drugs and his life was anything but pleasant. When he heard the song The Day He Wore My Crown, the presence of the Lord came into the room, and he bowed down and ask God to come into his life. Now a minister of the Gospel, a husband, father of four, and most recently a Grampa, Bro. Dale thanks the Lord for allowing a couple of teenagers to yield their lives to make this project. Were the songs and the music perfect? No. Were the teens fully mature in their Christian walk? No. But it's a prime example of God taking a small gift and a willing heart, and using it for something great!
